Remembering Steve Swihart
It is with heavy hearts that we share that Goshen Football has lost one of its biggest supporters. Steve Swihart passed away Thursday, November 9. Steve was so many things to the program over the years; a 3-year letter winner in football at Goshen High School, co-captain and co-MVP on the 1978 State Champion team, an assistant coach for over 20 seasons, including the 1988 State Champion and 1999 State Runner-Up teams, and President and founding member of the Goshen Gridiron Club. In addition to all these things, “Swi” was a mentor, teacher, and friend to so many. His passing leaves a large hole in the hearts of the Goshen Football family and his impact on the community will be felt for generations to come. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of Steve’s family and friends in this difficult time as they mourn his passing. Rest easy Swi, and thank you for what you’ve done for all of us.
